 Paul Pollastro is the Founder & CEO of AvMarkets, Inc., an aviation marketplace focused around online and consulting services to the aerospace industry. Prior to starting AvMarkets, Paul worked for companies in the aerospace business such as Pratt & Whitney (a division of United Technologies Corporation), Emery Worldwide and US Airways, Inc. holding positions related to jet engine test and assembly for new and overhauled engines, overhaul, repair and flight line maintenance of commercial aircraft and several engine and airframe component repair shops.
In 1998, he started Av-Tools.com, Inc., an aircraft parts and tools company located in Pittsburgh PA. Av-Tools.com has an established base of customers and vendors including, the US Air Force, Boeing, GE, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Volvo Aero, AAR Corp, Alcoa and hundreds of other companies in the airline, parts, tools and aerospace fastener industries. China Sourcing has been a new and exciting expanding business for Av-Tools. Dealing with companies in Asia, South East Asia, South America, Europe, Iceland, Africa, The Middle East, India, Indonesia, Australia (Euro-Asia), Canada and more, has given him the ability to understand world markets and how to apply this expertise in developing business relationships on a global level.
In 2006, Paul divided three privately owned companies into separate corporations, AvMarkets, Inc., Av-Tools.com, Inc. and 3 Rivers Web Hosting, Inc. to create new opportunities within each company.
In addition to his aviation experience, he is also an experienced software developer. For the past 17 years, Paul has helped companies ranging in size from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies with software development projects and consulting. In 2003, he started 3 Rivers Web Hosting, Inc. - a website hosting provider and technology consulting company in the Pittsburgh PA area.
As a result of combining his technical experience and twenty years of aviation knowledge with the need for a centralized aviation platform, AvMarkets was created. Paul strategically positioned AvMarkets to be in the middle of the aerospace and aviation industries’ rapid growth opportunity by creating sophisticated technology that allows customers and vendors to communicate and conduct business through the AvMarkets Platform while taking advantage of exclusive Licensed proprietary technology.
Paul is trained by Villanova University in Lean Six Sigma Methodology, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician (AP) and certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). and attended the Riverside School of Aeronautics. .
